Aquablock is a high-temperature, water soluble tooling block material, that can be used for overmoulding composite materials and then washed out after cure. Aquablocks are supplied in standard block sizes that can be machined to the desired shape, then covered with Teflease MG2 to provide a release surface for composite moulding.
Aquablock is compatible with most commercial epoxy and cyanate resin ester systems with cure temperatures below 193°C (380° F). It can be dissolved away from the cured composite quickly using tap water, and the effluent is nontoxic.
• Mould very complex shaped parts easily with simple wash out mandrel tooling.
• Strong and light weight for ease of use in vacuum bag autoclave moulding process.
• Washed out easily with cold tap water.
