Description

Airkap 1 & 1CBS is a fully cured polyimide pressure sensitive tape used for high temperature lay-ups up to 399°C (750°F). Airkap 1 & 1CBS has a silicone adhesive coating to assist in holding down peel plies, breathers, vacuum bag pleats, thermocouples, etc. on high temperature cures, in an oven or autoclave. Airkap 1 & 1CBS will hold down the exposed edges of Thermalimide bagging film in order to insulate A800-3G or GS Xtreme high temperature sealant tapes.

Notes

• Please note that although the polyimide substrate will take 399°C (750°F), the silicone adhesive may

break down at lower temperatures. Experience has shown that this does not affect the hold down/

positioning abilities once under the vacuum bag.

• Product comes on a plastic core, helping to reduce FOD in a clean room environment.

• Airkap can also be supplied with a liner under reference Airkap 1L.

• The maximum use temperature is dependent upon the duration at maximum temperature and is process

specific, Airtech recommends testing prior to use.
